The Initial Letter- Section 1
It is crazy to believe that I am a senior. Going back to my first day at Ripon High, and looking at it now- I can’t believe that I am where I am today. I have changed a lot. From going to the mindset of “I don’t want to go to school” to now “I never want to leave.” I am really nervous already jumping back into this school year. The concern of senior year, taking on an important leadership role, and being brand new to almost everything I am involved with this year including school and work- it is an anxiety nightmare. However, despite these new obstacles, I am learning to work through it. I have started to lean on staying organized and maintaining an optimistic mindset to surpass these stressors. I hope to see a brighter and more organized year in comparison to what we have all experienced in the past. By being more involved on our campus this year, I hope to make new friends and overall just connect with everyone. Last year, I lost a lot of connections with my friends. The time of desolation highlighted the weak and strong relationships in my life. Now, I want to start off fresh and not reflect back on what I lost. I must continue to look forward to what I have and what I can create. Some goals I hope to obtain by being in this class is to become more involved on our campus, create new friendships, learn valuable skills to better prepare me for the future, and ultimately have the most memorable senior year. I hope to leave a valuable legacy at Ripon High and positively impact my peers, hoping to create the most inclusive environment that I can. Together we can restore what we have all lost in this past year and reunite strong once again.
Part 1: Favorite Quotes- Section 2
Quote #1: I think it's great to be flawed. I am hugely flawed, and I like it this way. That's the fun of life. You fall, get up, make mistakes, learn from them, be human and be you.” - Priyanka Chopra
This quote really stood out to me. I have struggled in the past many times with learning how to be flawed. The words within these quotes just speak to me so well. In this quote, Chopra is discussing how it is not bad to be flawed. She is in fact going on more of a personal level and stating that she likes being flawed. She then goes on to elaborate that when you experience any type of flaw or failure you will grow and learn from them. This is all a part of human nature. After reading this quote, I keep repeating to myself “it is all a part of human nature.” This is a hard concept for me to grasp. Whenever I come to a flaw in my life, I tend to be so hard on myself. However, in reality, I have no reason to. This is because in the end, I know my worth and that I will fix my flaws and failures. It may take some significant amount of time, however, I know that if I want to get back up I can. The hardest realization for many people in life, including myself, is that we tend to think that having flaws is bad. We think that flaws are bad and act as if we are the only ones who experience them. After reading this quote, I now feel that I’m not alone and the flaws I experience only make me more human.
Quote #2: “It doesn't matter how strong your opinions are. If you don't use your power for positive change, you are indeed part of the problem.”- Coretta Scott King
This quote stood out to me because it is straight the “truth” that needs to be recognized within our lives. We tend to play the blame game, or if someone talks bad about him then he talks bad about her. It is like we are programmed in a cycle to act in this way. In this quote, Coretta Scott King is describing how no matter who you are, it doesn’t necessarily matter how valid and strong you believe your opinion is. This is under the condition that you aren’t using your actions positively and for the good. You are still a part of the problem if you aren’t using the granted power given to you in positive ways. We all have power as living people in this world. We all have the power to do good or bad. What I like about this quote is that it is basically telling you that regardless of your strong thoughts or ideas, you still remain the problem unless you are provoking positivity. I have had many experiences with this idea. I have also seen many situations where this idea is present. One example would be the split opinions on the COVID vaccine. It is arguably correct to say that everyone is entitled to their own opinions on this matter. However, some people take their opinions to the next level and decide to shame, bully, and denote others who believe the opposite of what they do. While doing this, they believe that they are doing what is best and the most ideal. This could be handled in such a different and more positive way. We must think about how actions are affecting other people, no matter if we believe the same or opposite of what they do. An experience I personally had with the idea of this quote was at school. I was in class and my teacher was complaining about the administration. I find this very appalling that as a staff member you have the power to voice your opinion on what is wrong, however, you decide to tell your students and create more of a problem. Instead, you could voice your opinion in a mature way to whomever is in charge and potentially fix your concern. This is all about doing what is right in the right way. We need to be more considerate in our lives and definitely think before we do and say.
Quote #3: “You can’t have a better tomorrow if you keep thinking about yesterday.” - Taylor Swift
I love this quote not only because it is by my favorite singer, but also because it just really spoke to me of something that I do quite often. Many people, including myself, tend to dwell on the negatives that have happened in the past and don’t move forward. This is what I think Taylor is talking about in this quote. You can’t expect a better day, month, or even year, if you keep reliving the negativity from the past. You have to move on. I have experienced multiple situations where it was hard to not keep thinking about “the yesterday.” I will dwell on even the little things like messing up at work or failing a test and just thinking about it until my brain is ready to explode. I get myself to a point where the next day I just think how I could have done better. Now, I have adjusted my mindset to not think in this way. I think in more of a way that accepts the bad that happened in the past and I look forward to the good I can create in the future. I also use my experience from the bad to flip it and change it into the good. Again, most of these types of situations that just come with life take time as you experience it. This is how I have learned. Learning these coping mechanisms has taught me how to be way happier in my life and overall just thrive with where I am at.

Part II: Quote- Section 3
“Passion is Energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.”
This quote is very meaningful to me. Passion has gotten me to keep going in the leadership program. I have a passion for what I do, and what I produce proves that. My effort has come from the passion I had to do said assignment or task. Passion for something has led me to further persevere through it all. This quote is extremely important because it reflects how one thing can completely alter your future and performance. Passion is simple, however, complex to fulfill. When you do something that you love, you would never get tired of sharpening your skills and getting the best out of you and for others. There is so much power that comes out of the simple act of you doing what interests you. This is exactly what this quote above is reflecting. This statement has highly influenced what I have now. If I never pursued my passion, I wouldn’t have realized my strengths. If I never continued to utilize the power of my passion, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
Part I: Goals- Section 4
Leadership Goals:
1. To successfully fulfill my position and act as an asset to my peers and class officers.
I would like to have the most successful senior year ever. I hope to create successful events with my officers and the leadership class. In doing this, I want to succeed in filling my position within the leadership class and be someone that others can rely on.
2. To create stronger relationships with people within the Leadership class and get to know others within the class more.
At the start of Core Camp, I was looking forward to meeting new people and building tighter relationships with everyone. It has been very hard to maintain certain relationships due to lost connection during COVID and I wanted to get that all back at the start of my senior year. Also, I have never really talked to anyone in leadership before I was in it. I have partially broken the ice so far this year and gotten closer to many people in the class. I hope to go further and talk to people I never have, such as the freshmen, and maybe go to lunch with some of them one day.
Short Term Goals:
1. To save up for my own car
I just got a job about a month ago and the biggest to-do on my checklist is to purchase my own car. I have always believed that that purchase should be my responsibility and not my parents. I am currently starting on this goal and still unsure of when I will reach it.
2. To pass AP Bio
AP Bio is the only AP class I am taking this year. I would like to do well or at least try my best so that I know within myself that I truly tried my best. My main hope is to go in for help after school if I am stuck and stay super up to date and organized with notes, study guides, and labs so that I don’t get behind. I would like to get at least a 3 on the test, however, my main goal is to obtain a 4.
Long Term Goals:
1. To graduate college with a degree in nursing
I have always wanted to be a nurse. From the time I was in kindergarten to now, I still remain the same. I am undecided on where I would like to go for college, however, I do know that I would like to major and get a degree in nursing. If I feel its best when the time comes, I would also like to get my Master’s of Science in Nursing.
2. To purchase my own home/apartment
I would really like to be out of the house with my parents as soon as I can. For when I am in college, I have been thinking about starting to save up now in order to afford an apartment later. My hope is to at least have purchased a home or apartment by the time I get a secure job and graduate college.

Part II: Goals- Section 5
Leadership Goals:
1. To successfully fulfill my position and act as an asset to my peers and class officers.
I believe that I have accomplished this goal. I was able to help where I can when I can all throughout the year being a class officer. I stepped up when needed and guided my peers when they needed it. I also helped my other class officers plan events and work as a team to successfully accomplish our spirit weeks. We won both homecoming and winterfest, which was a huge success and so rewarding. I definitely can say I made the stride to complete this goal. I believe that even despite personal setbacks, I have tried the best that I can to be an asset to my peers and class officers.
2. To create stronger relationships with people within the Leadership class and get to know others within the class more.
I definitely made the stride to accomplish this goal. I have gotten close with many in the class that I had never seen myself getting close to before. I have pushed myself to go out of my comfort zone and meet new people. I tried to immerse myself in different sectors of the classroom in order to build these relationships with everyone else. I am well on my way to finishing this goal as the school year comes to an end. I am so glad to have put myself out there in order to become closer to everyone.
Short Term Goals:
1. To save up for my own car
I was able to achieve this goal. I achieved this goal way earlier than expected. It took me about 4 months of saving to purchase my car. Now, the struggle is saving to be able to maintain my car. However, I definitely can say I made the stride to obtain this goal. I worked hard, stayed patient, and resisted the urge to spend all of my money.
2. To pass AP Bio
As the year is coming to a close, I can say I’m proud of where I’m at in AP Bio. I will admit, I didn’t take the strides that I wanted to complete this goal, but I did it. My grade has dropped in the class recently to a low B because it's hard for me to be in class and focus with everything going on. I am very proud that I could even maintain an A in the first semester so I will applaud that. As the next few weeks approach, I plan on working harder to finish strong in the class and not letting my chaos get a hold of me. I will start to go back and review all the recorded lectures in order to prepare myself for the final exam in the class to hopefully get an A.
Long Term Goals:
1. To graduate college with a degree in nursing
I am taking many different strides in order to complete this goal. I have gotten into various nursing programs at different colleges. This is helping further my degree in nursing because it is getting me to where I want to be. I need to keep up my good grades to get into this field that I desire. I am also planning on volunteering at a hospital to get that experience.
2. To purchase my own home/apartment
I have started to save up money to help in saving up for my own apartment. This has helped me better prepare for getting closer to getting my apartment. This is also preparing me for the future because it is teaching me discipline and how to save money.

Part I: People Magazine Cover- Section 6
Part II: People Magazine Article- Section 7
People’s newest story features the sensational, hardworking, Abigail Thompson. Thompson currently attends Ripon High school and is a senior. She is currently very involved around the campus. She is involved in leadership as the senior class Publicity Officer, journalism as the editor-in-chief, and girl’s league. Thompson hopes to create an influential impact on the Ripon High campus and make as many memories as she can.
Thompson plans to apply to various colleges within California, as well as out of state colleges such as University of Nevada, Reno. She hopes to study hard in college to become a nurse. Specifically, Abigail hopes to become a neonatal nurse.
“I have always wanted to be a nurse ever since I can remember. I feel like I can make a positive impact, especially since I love helping people,” says Thompson.
Thompson’s love for helping others doesn’t stop there. Currently, she works as an activities aide at the Bethany Home skilled nursing facility. There, she does activities with residents, serves them refreshments, and builds strong friendships with each of them. This type of job takes a strong heart, as it is difficult once a resident passes away after the bond you create with them.
“I love my job, other than having to let go of some of my favorite residents. I have built many strong relationships with most of my residents. I get a lot of compliments from them saying that they never want me to leave,” exclaimed Thompson.
Thompson believes that her future is unknown, however, she has outlined the path she wants to take. If nursing doesn’t work out for her, she plans to be a sonographer. Thompson is for certain that she will be going down the healthcare path. As she finishes her remaining year in high school, she has many hopes and aspirations.
“I hope to create an inclusive environment and make as many friends before I leave. I want to make friends and act as a role model to my peers because I feel like everyone needs that guide in highschool,” stated Thompson.
Thompson is aiming to influence her peers positively around campus. She knows that the road ahead until graduation is short, and she wants to make the most of it. Thompson stated that she always puts the effort in to smile and say “hi” to people because you never know how that smile can totally brighten someone's day.

Role Model- Section 8
One person that I admire and has made an impact on my life is my mom. My mom has done both positive and negative things that have allowed me to change for the better. From her, I have learned how to be resilient and face the toughest strifes in life. My mom is very successful in her professional life and that is where I look up to her most. I watch her relationship with my stepdad and try to avoid the mistakes she is making. This helps me change for the better because I am not following down the same path that she has. From her, I know what love in a relationship doesn’t look like. Also, my mom doesn’t know how to deal with stress and often relies on me to basically co-parent. I have learned to change for the better from this because I will never do this to my kids. I will never do this to anyone where I basically rely on them to be a parent because I know how it feels- not so good. Despite the normal human flaws, she is truly someone I admire. She puts up with a lot of difficult situations, however, still continues to live life and make money for our family. She offers great advice, and when she doesn’t have men in the picture, is a great person to be around. Another person that has really changed me for the better is my ex boyfriend. He has taught me how I shouldn’t be treated. After my previous relationship, I have really matured to know what I am really looking for. That relationship has also taught me that I shouldn’t have to buy items or constantly send big paragraphs of how much I love them to change the way they feel about me. I have definitely learned from this and changed for the better. I will now know to never make those same mistakes in the future.

Inner Animal- Section 9
I believe that the animal I am most like is a polar bear. The first similarity between myself and the animal is that even though the polar bear looks super cute, they don’t refrain from attacking when they feel threatened. I feel that I am the same way, not physically aggressive though. People tend to pick on me because I appear less threatening. However, if I am pushed to my limits, I will stand up for myself, just like a polar bear. Polar bears are also quietly determined and protective. My personality is very similar to this. I do things on my own most of the time, and when I am determined, I do this in silence. I am also very protective over people that I care about, just like polar bears. I will stand up for my siblings or friends when they are in times of need. I read in research that polar bears enjoy being group leaders, are strong, and like to ensure things get done. Whether it be at school or home, I have always been this way. Usually at school when I am put into groups, I am often the leader of the group. It is more my personality in nature to lead groups rather than be the follower. I think part of this comes from being a triplet. I was born first, and have always been used to taking care of my other siblings and leading the “pack.” Just like polar bears, I like to ensure things get done. I never like to have missing assignments, and if I do, I get really down on myself. Also, similar to polar bears, I believe that I am strong. I have faced many obstacles in life, some faster than they should have approached, and still remain strong. I remain hopeful and optimistic, while also trying to stand as a role model for my little sisters. |
Part I: The Best Things About Me – Section 10
Part II: The Impact of Sound & Words –Section 11
I think that this song represents me because it's about being “unstoppable.” The song seems to revolve around standing up against those who tear you down. Ever since I got broken up with, I have learned how to be more resilient and stand up to the people who tear me down. In the song, the artist talks about how to “put your armor on” in experiencing the “tear downs” in life. I have realized that I’ve been doing this a lot. For example, my step dad picks on me a lot, and in the past, I would usually cry during these moments. However, I have learned to be resilient to his nonsense and I keep a straight face, not giving in. I am starting to notice that not giving in makes me a bigger person. It makes me “unstoppable.” The song talks about confidence as well. I have gained so much confidence over the past few months that I feel like I am not as easy to take down. I used to break in an instant, but now I have learned how to stand up for myself. This all used to be so difficult for me but I have realized at the end of the day, the person I’ll only have is myself. I want to be a confident and strong person, not someone who is weak because I need to be strong for myself.
All smiles, I know what it takes to fool this town
I'll do it 'til the sun goes down and all through the night time
Oh yeah
Oh yeah, I'll tell you what you wanna hear
Leave my sunglasses on while I shed a tear
It's never the right time
Yeah, yeah
I put my armor on, show you how strong how I am
I put my armor on, I'll show you that I am
I'm unstoppable
I'm a Porsche with no brakes
I'm invincible
Yeah, I win every single game
I'm so powerful
I don't need batteries to play
I'm so confident
Yeah, I'm unstoppable today
Unstoppable today
Unstoppable today
Unstoppable today
I'm unstoppable today
Break down, only alone I will cry on out
You'll never see what's hiding out
Hiding out deep down
Yeah, yeah
I know, I've heard that to let your feelings go
Is the only way to make friendships grow
But I'm too afraid now
Yeah, yeah
I put my armor on, show you how strong how I am
I put my armor on, I'll show you that I am
I'm unstoppable
I'm a Porsche with no breaks
I'm invincible
Yeah, I win every single game

I think that this song represents me because it's about being “unstoppable.” The song seems to revolve around standing up against those who tear you down. What I Like Best About Being a Member of Leadership – Section 14
My first favorite memory from leadership was working on the class lip sync for homecoming. This was my first time being a part of the lip sync in general, so it was definitely a new experience. During this time, I had so many different expectations. During the lip sync, there was a lot of tension, as well as fun moments. The tensions were hard to overcome, however, this is what brought us closer together. The hard parts about the lip sync is what made the lip sync the most memorable and fun experience. I liked the hardships because we learned to work closer together and get past these moments. These exact moments are what got us closer together, and made me more comfortable with my peers, as well as others in leadership since I was fairly new. My second favorite memory was at powwow when I first got really close with the other senior officers. During powwow, I worked close with Bryan and we got super close. It was weird because we had never talked before, however, it instantly clicked when we started talking. I also remember Anthony brought us breakfast that morning and I automatically felt connected with my other officers after this day. My third favorite memory from leadership was crowning the winterfest candidates. This has to be one of my favorite experiences because I got to witness everything firsthand. The best part was seeing the candidates reactions and getting to do all of this alongside my other fellow senior officers.

A Reflection of a Peer in Leadership- Section 15
When we decorated the doors for warm and fuzzy week, Emma brought her whole group and other people in leadership hot chocolate. I think that this was very kind for her to do because I think it definitely lightened people’s day, granted it was the day after formal and everyone was exhausted. When she gave me the hot chocolate, it caught me off guard that someone actually thought of me during this time. All of this truly made my day. Also, Emma didn’t stop there on that day. We had a ton of conflict with people messing up doors and taking a while to finish them. So, Emma stepped in and made the experience less stressful and easier to complete. I believe that she sensed that all of us were stressed and wanted to help us out. Emma being there was definitely easier on my mental health and made my day a lot better. |

What I Love to Do…- Section 18
Some of my favorite hobbies include going on spontaneous adventures and writing. Also, this past year, I have started modeling for a photography company. Journalism is one of my most favorite classes that I have applied my favorite hobby to. I have a natural born talent when it comes to writing. I discovered this when I got into high school. I apply writing to many different parts of my life. I write when I am upset, I have started journaling, writing blogs, and more. I sometimes write fictional stories when I need to decompress. I take situations from my life and turn them into a story. Recently, I have started to write songs as well. I use my ability to write songs to express my deep inner feelings in a poetic way. Also, I like going on random adventures with my friends, and I consider this to be one of my hobbies. These random adventures always have a significant meaning to us. I consider modeling to now be one of my hobbies because I do it so much and it has grown into something I love doing. Modeling boosts my confidence and allows me to see a different side of myself. |
Letter to Parents- Section 19
Dear Mom,
I am so grateful for all you do for me. You are an inspiration to me, despite how it comes across. You are an amazing mother and it astonishes me how you balance raising six kids basically solo. I learn a lot from you every single day. You teach me how to become an independent woman and follow my dreams.
You tell me to avoid your mistakes and never make the same mistakes as you. This is inspiring enough. You realize your own flaws and encourage me to learn from them. You are always there for me, despite our differences. The time I really would like to thank you for was when I was dealing with my health issues freshman year. During that time I was scared, and I had my first major surgery. You were there for me every step of the way, even during recovery. You slept on the couch with me, stayed up all night, and helped me with everything else- on top of being pregnant. All of that just amazes me.
You stick by my side and always trust what I say. You have pushed me to be the greatest version of myself and nothing more. I am so thankful for you not being biased with my life. You don’t tell me what to do based on what you want me to do. You encourage me to follow my dreams and heart. I also appreciate you giving me the hard truth. Sometimes the truth hurts, but it makes things a lot easier in the long run than hearing the sugar coated truth. I also just aspire to be like you in your professional life. You are amazing at your job. I am so proud of everything you have done, and now especially with you writing a book about your job. Somehow you do all of this and still make it home to your kids to take care of this.
So, I would like to thank you for being you. You are such a role model to me and I take everything you do to guide me along the rest of my journeys in life.

Your True Legacy
General Advice- Section 20
Dear Brianna,
The biggest advice that I can give you as you walk into the position of being senior class publicity officer is to thrive where you are. You must be confident with yourself in order to achieve your goals in this position. Try your best to refrain from involving yourself in turmoil between the officers and yourself. Work with your officer team as a group and not against each other. Never be afraid to share your ideas or hopes for your class, your opinion matters so much. As senior class publicity officer, you are in charge of spirit. Also, when you maintain the spirit counts, I would keep an organized list on your phone that goes by each month so it is easier to track down at the end of the year. It gets hard sometimes because people will get upset with you and accuse you of cheating. Don’t let these people get to you or affect the work you produce. Make sure that you assert yourself well when working with the spirit commissioners. This is another difficult part of the job because you are working with your classmates, but also in charge of getting the spirit counts from said individuals. At some moments, you will have to put your foot down and tell the spirit commissioners to get back on task. This is really hard because equally they are your classmates and no one wants to boss their peers around. When you have events such as homecoming, winterfest, and more, try your best not to let your stressed emotions get the best of you. When working with the officers day in and day out, you will get very tired and stressed easily. You will also start to get tired of working on the projects. However, my biggest advice here would be to control these emotions the best that you can because it will not benefit you to act out in the long run. It is so important to have fun in your senior year. Everything you do will be your last memory doing it. Make the most of your last year at RHS and don’t let others bring you down.

The Professional- Section 24
One of the aspects of the professional world we looked at this year was public speaking. This encompassed a graded speech in front of the whole class, elder projects, and other speaking opportunities where we are encouraged to participate in class discussion. I really enjoyed learning about public speaking because it really challenged me to step out of my comfort zone. It also allowed me to practice and obtain my confidence to speak in front of people. We learned how to professionally present a speech and what to do, while also learning what to not do. This helped me a lot because some of the aspects needed to completely present a speech professionally were taught to us that I never thought of. For example, we learned that certain movements in a speech are more professional than others. We also learned how to assert ourselves in a way that is precise, clear, and professional, while not allowing the nerves to shake it up. I really like how we chose speech topics when it came down to creating our speeches. We each got really random topics, with the freedom to go in whatever way we wanted with the topic. This really helped me see the many different ways you can take a speech, while still keeping it professional. I never knew that you could have fun with a speech and make room for relevant jokes, still making the presentation professional. The public speaking lesson was definitely one of the most valuable lessons in my opinion. If it weren’t for this portion of learning about aspects in the professional world, I definitely would not have the confidence that I do to speak in public.
Another aspect we have looked at is mock interviews. We start this process in January where we pick a job that interests us. Then we create resumes, cover letters, and have a final interview with an employer of that desired job. I really liked going over each of these aspects because it helped me build a resume and cover letter correctly and I can potentially use them for future job interviews. Also, I believe the interview with the employer is very helpful because it gets you that experience and allows you to obtain more knowledge about your desired career. All of these steps that we take during mock interviews are definitely things we can take further into our near future. We create questions for professionals so they can gain an inside look at a specific industry. In addition, we conduct face-to-face interviews where we practice body language, professional attire, and more in order to land a job. This allows us to create these essential connections and acquire lessons about how to better our professional talents in the future. Also, it allows us to have exposure to the interview world of things and learn how to fix our errors so we don’t make those same mistakes in the future.

Change- Section 25
I have had many ups and downs this year as a leader in the leadership program. Even though it is hard, I appreciate the “downs” because it allows me to further grow as a leader and be better. A time I was frustrated this year was when I was working with the spirit commissioners in the beginning of the year. I was fairly new to my position and likewise for the spirit commissioners. There was a lot of lack of communication and no one fulfilling their job responsibilities. This led me to become frustrated because in the end, the lack of communication fell onto me. We all work together to get the spirit counts so that I can eventually get the spirit totals and make social media posts. The lack of communication to get these spirit counts to me stressed me out because it was my job to get the final product ready. Despite being very difficult to deal with, I was able to move past it and have a more assertive voice with the commissioners. This ultimately taught me how to be an assertive leader in order to move forward and not back. Another big problem that occurred this year was when the class had a lot of tension. None of this necessarily occurred with the seniors, however, the tension did affect everyone regardless of their grade. This led to a lack of performance and the overall energy of the class just gone. We need a positive working environment in the leadership class to get our projects done. With this gone, it is very difficult to get things done. The problem was that there was so much tension and talking behind backs that we all knew there was tension but didn’t know exactly what or why. After a few weeks, this tension was resolved with a sit down conversation with the whole class and winter break gave us time to step back and look at the big picture. This year as a leader, I believe I have grown so much through these experiences. I have learned how to become more assertive and confident with my abilities to successfully do my job. There will always be obstacles and we have to try our best to thrive through these hard times. There were many times where I got hard on myself and wanted to quit. However, I look at how hard I have worked to get into this program. I think about the tears and motivation. This all keeps me going. I realized I can't just stop at a roadblock. I realized that I need to keep going no matter what pushes me down. Something that I believe that we can all change for the future is stepping back in the heated moments. We have had many stressful situations this year where we have just been at each other’s throats. In situations like this where it got stressful, we could’ve stepped back and given each other space. It is so important to think before you speak and take a breather. This is what I really hope our future classes really take into consideration.

The Ideal Leader- Section 26
An ideal leader is someone who is self aware, confident, encouraging, inspirational, and dependable. A student in this program should be expected to meet deadlines as a main priority. Deadlines are so important in being in the leadership program. Every single day in class should be spent working productively and not messing around. A leader in this program should collaborate with their peers but also be able to work independently productively. You should not mess around as a leader in this program. You should not fail to meet deadlines or fall behind on work. You should not act in a disrespectful manner to your peers, as it reflects not being professional. You should act in a professional and mature manner in this class. Responsibility and maturity is key in learning how to be an effective leader. When planning events, you should always contribute in helping when needed. You should never expect others to do the work for you. Overall, a leader in this class must put in the effort to succeed. You must put your best foot forward and take the class on like it is an additional job.
